Level 3 Award in Education and Training
The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is an essential introduction and license for those who work or wish to work as teachers in further or adult education and work based learning. It is an ideal qualification for those who have no previous teaching experience or qualifications, as well as those who are already working in the education sector who would like to gain an officially recognised qualification.
Who is the course for?
For people interested in working in post 16 education and training such as colleges, private training providers or training within their own workplace. This course is for you if:

Those wanting to take the first step towards a teaching career in the Lifelong Learning Sector

You work with students in a classroom or workshop but do not have a teaching qualification
-
You are involved in any activity with learners where you are teaching them or helping them acquire skills or knowledge

You wish to deliver and/or assess on a course where a Level 3 teaching qualification is required, i.e. First Aid, Vocational Qualifications.

You are not involved in any of these activities but are considering them for the future
What will I study on the course?
You will learn the fundamentals of effective teaching, learning and assessment. This includes:

The teaching role and responsibilities in education and training

Ways to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment

Understand the relationships between teachers and other professionals in education and training

Understand the types and methods of assessment used in education and training
-
Understand how to use constructive feedback, keep records and involve learners and others in the assessment process

Understand quality assurance and the legal and good practice requirements in relation to assessment
-
Plan, deliver and evaluate inclusive teaching and learning

Facilitate one to one and group learning and development
You will attend a series of workshops that is supported with a learning manual.
Entry Requirements
As there are no pre-requisites or formal entry requirements for this course, you can enrol now. Please note, some courses have a limited number of spaces, so please enrol at the earliest opportunity.
How will I be assessed?
The course is assessed by completing a series of assignments within a Learner Achievement Portfolio (LAP), including a 30 minute micro-teach (to be delivered at the end of your course and submission of your portfolio)
How long is the course?
You will attend 4 x Performance workshops with an eight-week timeframe from start to final assessment.

The fee for the course is from £399.00 Your place on the course will be reserved upon receipt of payment.
Need Financial Assistance?
We support students by offering Payment Plans on all programs. These start from £30 per week after a course deposit is paid. Different Payment Plans are available to meet individual circumstances. Please contact us for more information about Payment Plans
Progression
You can work and teach in lifelong learning sector as a teacher or trainer and also help you to be assessors of different qualifications in education sector.
